Jizan in Few lines.

Jizan (or Jazan) (Arabic: جيزان) is the capital of the Jizan Province in the far south-west of Saudi Arabia. The city is situated on the Red Sea coast and serves a large agricultural hinterland. It has a population of 100,694 (2004 census). In the north there are Farasan Islands. It is famous for its high-quality production of tropical fruits like mango, figs, papaya. Before it became a part of Saudi Arabia, Jizan was under the control of the Edrisi state, and somewhere between 1920 and 1940 the Saudis gained control of it. In the later years, the area was in the front line of the war with the new Yemeni rebels and thier Egyptian Nassirist supporters.
